1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service govern the relationship between you and Lumnetic regarding your use of the Rent Wise app and related services. They constitute a legally binding agreement.
By using the app, you confirm that you have read and understood these Terms and the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.
2. Who We Are
Lumnetic is an independent software developer that builds and publishes mobile apps under the Lumnetic brand.

3. The Service
Rent Wise is a mobile app available on Android (Google Play). The service includes:
- Monte Carlo Simulator: probabilistic simulations (up to 500 in the free plan, up to 5,000 in the Pro plan) to assess the financial sustainability of your rent over time.
- Stress Index™ and Freedom Index™: proprietary indices measuring financial pressure and remaining freedom of choice after housing costs.
- Shock scenarios: simulation of the impact of adverse events (job loss, rent increase, unexpected expenses) on your budget.
- Custom scenarios: build your own scenarios with user-defined parameters.
- Financial insights: rent-to-income ratio, risk of depleting savings, monthly cushion.
- Visual dashboard: graphical overview of your financial situation.
Rent Wise is designed for renters. It is not a mortgage calculator: if you know your average monthly mortgage payment, you can enter it as your housing cost and run the same simulations, but the app does not calculate interest rates, amortisation schedules, or mortgage structures — that is outside its scope.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age (or 16 in jurisdictions where a higher minimum age applies) to use Rent Wise. By using the app, you represent that you meet this requirement.
The app is recommended for users aged 17 and over, as it deals with financial data.
5. Licence to Use
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Lumnetic grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to:
- Download and install the app on devices you own or control
- Use the app for your own personal, non-commercial purposes
All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Lumnetic.
6. Permitted and Prohibited Use
6.1 You may
- Use the app to model your personal financial situation
- Share screenshots or app outputs for personal, educational, or non-commercial purposes, with attribution to Rent Wise
- Contact us with feedback, bug reports, or feature requests
6.2 You may not
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app
- Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on Rent Wise
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable law
- Remove or alter any copyright notices, trademarks, or branding in the app
- Distribute, sell, or transfer access to the app to third parties
- Use the app to develop a competing product or service
7. No Financial Advice — Important Disclaimer
The outputs generated by the app — including Stress Index™, Freedom Index™, Monte Carlo simulations, and insights — are based solely on the data you enter and on statistical models. They are provided for informational and illustrative purposes only.
- Results do not constitute financial advice or recommendations of any kind.
- Simulations are probabilistic estimates — actual outcomes may differ significantly.
- The models used involve inherent uncertainty and do not guarantee accuracy.
- Lumnetic is not a licensed financial adviser, broker, or regulated institution in any jurisdiction.
Always consult a qualified financial professional before making any significant financial decision. Your use of the app and any reliance on its outputs is entirely at your own risk.
8. Plans and In-App Purchases
8.1 Free Plan and Pro Plan
Rent Wise is available in two plans: the free plan offers up to 500 Monte Carlo simulations per session. The Pro plan, available via in-app purchase or subscription, offers up to 5,000 simulations, unlimited scenarios, and advanced features.
8.2 Payment processing
All purchases are processed by Google Play Billing (Android) or Apple StoreKit (iOS). Lumnetic does not handle or have access to payment data.
8.3 Pricing and renewals
Prices are as displayed in the store at the time of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Google Play or App Store account settings.
8.4 Refunds
Refunds are handled exclusively by Google or Apple. Lumnetic does not process refunds directly. To request a refund, please contact Google Play Support or Apple Support.
9. Intellectual Property
The Rent Wise app, its design, code, algorithms, the Stress Index™ and Freedom Index™ concepts, text, graphics, and logos are owned by Lumnetic and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
The names Lumnetic and Rent Wise, and related marks, may not be used without prior written consent.
Your use of the app does not grant you any ownership of or rights in Lumnetic's intellectual property.
10. Service Availability and Updates
We aim to keep the app available and functioning, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may:
- Temporarily suspend the app for maintenance or updates
- Modify, add, or remove features at any time
- Discontinue the service with reasonable notice where possible
We recommend keeping the app updated to benefit from bug fixes and improvements.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app is provided as is and as available, without warranty of any kind, including:
- Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- Warranties that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted
- Warranties regarding the accuracy of simulation results
- Warranties that defects will be corrected
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. In such jurisdictions, the above exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by law.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lumnetic shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the app, including:
- Financial losses arising from reliance on simulation outputs
- Loss of data saved in the app
- Personal or financial decisions made based on app outputs
Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the preceding twelve months, or 50 euros, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lumnetic from any claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising from:
- Your use of or inability to use the app
- Your violation of these Terms
- Any financial decision made based on the app's outputs
14. Third-Party Services
The app interacts with Google Play Billing (and in the future Apple StoreKit) solely for the management of in-app purchases. Use of these services is subject to Google's and Apple's respective terms.
Rent Wise does not include links to external websites or integrate third-party services beyond those mentioned in these Terms or the Privacy Policy.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you also benefit from any mandatory protective provisions of the law of your country of residence.
Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably within 30 days of written notice shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Italy, except where mandatory law requires a different jurisdiction.
EU consumers may also use the European Commission Online Dispute Resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. The date at the top of this page indicates the latest version.
For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days notice via the app or website. Continued use of the app after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the app and cancel any active subscription before the effective date.
17. Termination
You may stop using Rent Wise at any time by uninstalling the app. If you have an active subscription, cancel it through the store before your next renewal date.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access immediately, without notice or liability, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law.
Upon termination, all licences granted to you will immediately cease. Sections 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, and 15 survive termination.
