2. What Rent Wise Does

Rent Wise is a financial and housing stress simulator. It allows you to:

• Enter personal financial data (income, rent, household bills, utilities, general monthly expenses, savings, employment type, number of household members)
• Run Monte Carlo simulations to evaluate the affordability of your rent over time
• Model shock scenarios (job loss, rent increase, unexpected expenses)
• Build custom scenarios with your own parameters
• View financial insights: Stress Index™, Freedom Index™, rent-to-income ratio, risk of depleting savings, monthly cushion
• Review a visual dashboard of your financial situation

Rent Wise is a simulation tool for informational purposes only. It does not provide financial, tax, or legal advice.

3. Data We Collect

3.1 Data you enter manually

All data you enter into the app is saved exclusively on your device using local storage (SharedPreferences on Android, UserDefaults on iOS). Lumnetic never has access to this data.

• Financial data: monthly income, rent amount, building charges, utilities, general monthly expenses, accumulated savings
• Housing context: employment type (employee, self-employed, unemployed, etc.), number of household members
• App preferences: chosen language, visual theme
• Onboarding state: whether you have already completed the app introduction
• Consent: local record of your acceptance of the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service

3.2 Technical data collected automatically

Some technical information may be collected automatically by the platform:

• Crash reports and diagnostic logs — anonymised error logs from Google Play (Android) or Apple (iOS). They do not include any financial data.
• Aggregate store statistics — download counts, device type, installation country — in anonymous, aggregate form only.

3.3 Data we do NOT collect

• We do not collect identifying data (name, email, tax number)
• No account is required to use the app
• We do not use advertising SDKs or tracking pixels
• We do not collect your precise location
• We do not build user profiles for marketing purposes
• We do not share data with data brokers or advertisers

4. How Data Is Processed

All calculations and simulations run entirely on your device. Financial data is never sent to Lumnetic's servers or to any third party.

• App functionality: data you enter is used locally to calculate simulations, indices, and insights.
• Local persistence: preferences and financial data are stored permanently on your device until you delete the app or clear the data manually.
• Technical diagnostics: anonymised crash reports help us identify and fix bugs.
• Legal compliance: data is processed in accordance with applicable regulations.

5. In-App Purchases

Rent Wise offers a free plan and a Pro plan via in-app purchase:

• Free plan: up to 500 Monte Carlo simulations per session.
• Pro plan: up to 5,000 Monte Carlo simulations, unlimited scenarios, advanced reports.
• Payments are processed exclusively by Google Play Billing (Android) or Apple StoreKit (iOS).
• Lumnetic does not have access to any payment data (card number, bank details, etc.).
• Purchase data is managed entirely by Google or Apple under their respective privacy policies.

6. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process data on these legal bases:

• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): for the local recording of your acceptance of the Privacy Policy and Terms.
• Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)): to run the app features you request.
• Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): for anonymised crash diagnostics, aimed at improving the app.
• Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): where required by applicable law.

7. Data Retention

• Financial data and preferences on-device: remain on your device until you uninstall the app or manually delete the data. Lumnetic holds no copy.
• Crash diagnostics: per Google and Apple policies (typically 90 days).
• Contact data (if you write to us for support): kept for up to 2 years, then permanently deleted.

8. Third Parties

Rent Wise interacts with a minimal number of third parties:

We do not integrate advertising networks, behavioural analytics SDKs, or profiling tools inside Rent Wise.

9. Your Rights

Under the GDPR and applicable law, you have the right to:

• Access: request a copy of personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Erasure: ask us to delete your data. For app data, the most direct way is to uninstall the app.
• Restriction: ask us to limit how we process your data.
• Data portability: receive your data in machine-readable format.
• Object: object to processing based on legitimate interest.
• Withdraw consent: at any time, without affecting prior processing.
• Lodge a complaint: with your local supervisory authority (e.g. Italian Garante or UK ICO).

10. Security

• Financial data is processed and stored exclusively on-device — Lumnetic has no access.
• The lumnetic.app website is served over HTTPS with HSTS enabled.
• No sensitive data is transmitted over external networks.
• We apply data minimisation: we collect only what is strictly necessary.

No system is 100% secure. In the event of a breach affecting data we hold, we will notify authorities and affected users within the timeframes required by law.

11. Age Limit

Rent Wise is recommended for users aged 17 and over. The app is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app and provided data, contact us at info@lumnetic.app.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy following changes to the app, applicable law, or our practices. The date at the top of this page indicates the latest version.

For significant changes, we will notify you via the app or website. Continued use of the app after the update constitutes acceptance of the new version.
